The Lodge family is getting ready to head to Moscow, and friends sent them off with a great going away party Friday night. Emily and Andrew always have fun costume parties and this one was no execption. Since it is in bad taste for them to be leaving Brussels, the theme of the party was "Bad Taste." There were a variety of costumes and people got really creative. Keep in mind that Brits have a very dry sense of humor and have a pretty high tolerance for anything offensive, so nothing was too taboo for them. There was even a woman dressed as Hitler! Kyle went as a Katrina evacuee, and I went as the British pop star Jordan on her wedding day (she wore a foot tall tiara). There were also slutty nuns, two Monica Lewinsky look alikes (complete with the blue dress and all) and two American tourists with their beer bellies, tennis shoes, fanny packs, visors and jean shorts. Saturday afternoon Amy, Nate and their friends Jamie and Jessica came to Brussels. We had a great time having a beer outside, touring the Grand Place, eating tapas and then watching the US play Italy in the World Cup. Soccer fever is huge over here and it is so much fun to see how into it everyone is. Click here to see the photos of our evening.
