And I need a volunteer...

I recently heard a woman say that when one returns to the States (after not working while abroad) they want to get a job, just so they don't keep having to volunteer. I think I am starting to understand her point. Don't get me wrong, I definitely have had a fair amount of free time, but it seems that once people realize you don't work, they find LOTS of ways to help you fill your time.

Today for instance, I was up by 7:00am, at the American Women's Club by 8:30, helping set up for our Hints for Living in Brussels class, greeting the attendees, signing up new members, giving tours of the club, and answering lots of questions. Immediately afterwards, I headed to my next volunteer gig of babysitting for some children of missionaries who are in Belgium for a Cultural Awarness training before heading to their mission location. Both of these volunteer things will keep me very busy for the next few weeks.

The amount of volunteering I was doing only struck me when I realized that I left the house at 8am and returned home at 6pm--it was just like a full time job!
